DRESS CODE

Holy Cross School has a dress code policy with which all students are expected to comply. Uniforms are worn from the first day of school.

BOYS

SLACKS AND SHORTS

GRADES K - 6: Solid navy blue slacks (Docker style). Slacks must be the correct size, no baggies, and no slacks worn below the waist. No corduroy pants are allowed. Shorts (navy...only... school shorts) purchased from Harvey Uniforms are allowed in September, May, and June.

GRADES 7 - 8: In addition to the above, 7th and 8th grade boys may wear Docker style khaki slacks that are the correct fit. Shorts (khaki school shorts) purchased from Harvey Uniforms are allowed in September, May, and June.

* No cargo-type pants are to be worn at anytime.

SHIRTS

ALL GRADES: solid light blue, cranberry or white (long or short sleeve polo shirts). All shirts must be the proper size, no over - sized shirts.

GRADES 7 - 8: in addition to the above, boys may wear pink polo shirts that are appropriately sized.

*ALL SHIRTS ARE TO BE TUCKED INTO THE SLACKS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY

SOCKSAll grades must wear either white or navy blue ankle - high socks at all times..............NO PED - STYLES

SHOES

Dress shoes with rubber soles or sneakers (white, black, or combination of both... can have silver, gray, blue streaks only).

GIRLS UNIFORM

GRADES K - 4: Girls wear the Holy Cross School uniform jumper

GRADES 5 - 8: Girls wear the uniform skirt and vest. Skirts must be knee length or longer. Vests are to be buttoned during the school day.

GRADES K - 6: Girls wear navy blue slacks (Docker style) November 1st - April 1st only. Slacks must be the appropriate size, no baggies, no stirrup, no stretch slacks and no corduroys. (No shorts will be allowed.)

* Vests are to be worn with the slack uniform as well.

GRADES 7 - 8: In addition to the above, 7th and 8th grade girls may wear khaki slacks (Docker style). (No shorts will be allowed.)

SHIRTS

GRADES K-6: Girls may wear a solid white, long or short sleeve blouse. They may wear white, cranberry or light blue long or short sleeve polo shirts. Shirts must be the proper size, no over - sized or baggy shirts.

GRADES 7-8: In addition to the above, 7th and 8th grade girls may wear a pink polo shirt that is appropriately sized.

*ALL SHIRTS ARE TO BE TUCKED INTO THE SLACKS OR SKIRTS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY.

* All skirts, jumpers, and vests must be purchased from Harvey Uniforms. However, parents have the option of purchasing the remaining parts of the uniform at stores of choice as long as they are the appropriate size and Holy Cross School colors.

SOCKS: ALL GRADES: Girls may wear either knee high or ankle length socks....no ped-styles in either navy blue, white or cranberry. Girls may also wear navy, cranberry or white tights.

SHOES: Dress shoes with rubber soles with heels no higher than 1-1/2 inches or sneakers (white, black, or combination of both... can have silver, light blue, light pink streaks only).

NOTE: Sandals, jelly type shoes, clogs are NOT to be worn at anytime. GIRLS AND BOYS--------ALL GRADES

SWEATERS: Solid navy blue, solid gray, solid white or solid cranberry sweaters may be worn during winter months.

SWEATSHIRTS: "Hoodie" sweatshirts may be worn outdoors by any student throughout the school year.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION: All students are required to have a Holy Cross School regulation tee shirt, jogging pants, shorts, socks and sneakers for classes. Holy Cross School cranberry jogging pants can be worn by any student throughout the year on gym day only. "Hoodie" sweatshirts may be worn over the Holy Cross gym tee shirt by any student during the winter months only. Both girls and boys wear the gym uniform (optional gym jacket, mandatory pants and shorts) to school only on their assigned gym day.

* Gym uniform components are ordered by the school from Bolduc’s Apparel in Agawam with the exception of the gym shirt.

* It is understood that once gym shorts become too short or too tight, new shorts MUST be purchased.

OTHER ESSENTIALS:

EARRINGS: Dangling and / or hoop type earrings are not allowed at anytime for safety reasons. Earrings will be allowed on EARS only....any other piercing will have to be removed. BOYS may wear an earring if they so choose however, the above stated regulations applies.

HAIR LENGTH: BOYS are to wear their hair collar length or shorter. Any tupe of unusual hair cut such as mohawks etc. are not allowed. There is no stipulated hair length for girls. Hair is to be neat and clean at all times.

HAIR COLOR: ALL students are to have their own NATURAL COLOR.

FINGERNAIL POLISH: a clear or soft blush only will be allowed. Students are not to report to school with decorative nail designs at anytime. The school reserves the right to have a student remove any fingernail polish deemed inappropriate for a school setting.

SOCKS: are a requirement one hundred percent of the time.

SHOELACES: are to be fastened properly at all times during the school day.
