Holy Cross Church Mission Statement

Holy Cross Parish, located in the East Forest Park section of Springfield, was founded in 1949 by the Diocese and the people of Holy Name parish. We have from the beginning drawn strength from our church, school and neighborhood. We, as a Spirit-filled, prayerful community of people of all ages, are challenged to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ by knowing, loving, and serving God and each other.

As Roman Catholics, we commit ourselves to grow through celebrating the sacraments, especially the Eucharist; studying the Word; and supporting one another. We are called to reach out to all people, especially the poor and those in need, in a sprit of compassion and love.

Holy Cross School Mission

Holy Cross School is a ministry of Holy Cross Parish, serving families from surrounding parishes, consisting of Pre-Kindergarten through grade Eight. We are a faith community fostered by celebration of prayer, liturgy and Catholic traditions. We interlace our faith with a strong academic curriculum to develop respect for life and respect for learning.

We educate students so that they may make proper and just lifetime decisions and enrich the lives of others in their communities.

La escuela Holy Cross es un ministerio educacional de la parroquia Holy Cross.  El programa consiste en los grados kindergarten hasta el grado ocho.  Somos una comunidad de fe formentada por la celebracion de oraciones, litugia y tradiciones catolicas.  Entelazamos nuestra fe con un riguroso curso de estudios academico para desarrolar un respeto para la vida y para la educacion.

 

          Educamos a los estudiantes para que ellos puedan tomar decisiones justas y apropiadas, y tambien para que puedan enriquecer la vida de otros en su comunidad.
